Teacher Appreciation Gifts day3

I admit it. I love our teachers and the staff at our schools but I am burned out. My creativity has been drained after only 3 days. How pathetic is that? What if our teachers ran out of creativity or enthusiasm after such a short period of time? What kind of education would our kids be getting? Luckily that is not the case for my children's teachers.

Thus, I have come to appreciate our educators even more at the end of Teacher Appreciation week than I did in the begining.  And to continue to show my appreciation, here is the simple gift I made up.

 
Inside that baggie are 3 mini brownies in the shape of flowers. Here's what I used:

 
I made the tags on the Cricut and sized them 2 & 3/4". For the flower and star, I used the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and for the butterfly I used Teardrop.

• The flower reads: "Thank you for helping me blossom"
• The star reads: "You're out of this world"
• The butterfly reads "Thank you for helping me to spread my wings"

                This is the brownie mess leftover. It doesn't look pretty but I have a feeling it will still get gobbled up once the the kids get their hands on it.

Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas 2

At my daughter's school, the PTO plans a week of appreciation for the teachers and staff. L doesn't have school Mondays so we gave out the decorative notepads  on Tuesday. $5 for 8 gifts is not bad but I had to come up with two more days of gifts without spending any additional money.

 
How stinkin cute are these?! Seriously, I literally patted myself on the shoulder for a job well done. Yeah Me! I wish I could take credit for the concept, but I am not a complete genius. Just genius enough to know a good idea when I see it, and then to steal it. Mwahaha! (I'm fine with you calling me evil genius, as long as the word genius is associated with me) Hmm, how many times have I typed the word "genius" so far? Genius! Genius! Genius! These are most of the supplies, tea bags which I had left over in the cupboard. (I have switched to loose leaf). Plastic Easter eggs, from Easter. Lollipop treat bags left over from last time I made cake pops. Paper, buttons , fiber and Stickles from my scrapbook stash. What you don't see is a loaded weapon. You got it, my handy dandy 9 gauge glue gun. Watch out bloggers, cuz I'm armed and dangerous.

 
This is the teapot tag, I attached. It was made with my Cricut, using the A Child's Year cartridge. I used the teaparty tag setting at 2". This tag says "for a TEA-rific Speech Tx". Another one said "for a wonderful TEAcher." Get it? Tea bags in tea cups for the TEAcher? I know, I'm a genius! (hee hee)

 
I decorated the tags with Stickles and put the first letter of the last name on the outside. All wrapped up and ready for giving. You could also fill these with candy for a cute tea party favor.

Teacher Appreciation Gift

Hi all. Happy Friday! I gotta make this quick because we are leaving to go camping in about 20 minutes.  Monday May 2nd is the start of Teacher Appreciation Week. While the Catholic schools celebrate their teachers during Catholic Schools week, I still decided to make them a little something since I was already crafting for L's public school teachers.

 
There is nothing original about my idea. I took it straight from Creative Kismet. I lost the link after I first saw her craft so I didn't do mine exactly the same way but I tried.

Let me begin with the fact that I am on a strict budget and was at first unsure that I would be doing anything for the teachers but I only spent $5 for supplies (notepads and clips) and the rest of supplies (glue, scrapbook paper, and pencils I had on hand) The base of these notepads was cut out of recycled cardboard.

 

I used the kids book to trace the squares on the cardboard before cutting it out. I basically eyeballed everything else. The cardboard was wrapped like a present and the paper was glued down. I wrapped another strip around to cover the folds on the back. I also glue paper around the clip. For the pencils, My husband cut 8 pencils my kids had brought home from various parties and cut them in half. I sharpened them and then wrapped them in paper which I affixed with Modge Podge. I tied ribbon on one end of the pencil and then also to the clip. I also glued the sticky pad to to top of wrapped cardboard.

 
So there you have it, eight teacher, librarian, speech therapist gifts for around 60 cents a piece.

Can We Get a Little Appreciation Please?

Did you know that teacher appreciation week is just around the corner? Did you know that today is Etsy Saturday here on Fakin It? Did you know that 1 + 1 = 4? How you ask? Well you see, when you add teacher appreciation day (1) with the featured Etsy shop, Beautiful Twists (1), you won't be able to resist buying at least 4 wonderful gifts, or more.

As I have mentioned before, my kids go to Catholic School. Our teachers aren't cranky old nuns as I have heard some described from others' childhood Catholic experiences.
