Welcome to Muffin Tin Monday here at Fakin It! I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Just to let you know a little something more about myself, I love butterflies! I loved butterflies long before they became all trendy. On my grandparents farm growing up I would sit in a field of butterfly flowers and the butterflies would come and land right on me. It was really cool and left a lasting impression. It's still a bit early here for butterflies but I'm eagerly awaiting my first sighting.
Until then we'll just have to settle for butterflies for lunch. In the morning, I had the kids make their own chocolate covered butterflies with pink candy melts, two types of pretzels and sprinkles.
1) caterpillar in the grass (carrot stick decorated with food safe markers on shredded lettuce)
2) Cheese butterfly shaped with cookie cutter 3) our chocolate covered butterflies
4) apple butterflies 5) sprinkled butterfly on yogurt 6) butterfly chicken nuggets
I used the same cookie cutter to make the last three designs.
The kids were pretty impressed with this lunch, but I have to stay it took me awhile to make. And rather than waste all the outsides of the cutouts, mommy got the scraps. Yum!
Enjoy your week!
