Did you know that next week, the second week in May is Wild Flower week?
This week while camping the boys were picking wild flowers.
I told the boys that the flowers wouldn't live long enough to bring home and put in a vase, so we had to come up with another plan.
C started drawing a grid and then rubbing a different flower in each box. Check out those purples!
C titled his project Nature Colors. He was having so much fun that we started looking around for more objects from nature to try out like a pine cone and leaves.
Yes there is a bone in the picture. Apparently flowers weren't the only thing the boys brought back from their hikes. What can I say? They're boys! And FYI--we even tried rubbing the bone on the paper but it didn't leave any markings.
J couldn't bear to deface those pretty flowers in such a manner (he is my more sensitive child) so he created a lovely center piece for the picnic dinner table.
Hope everyone enjoys their Wild Flower week next week and let me know what you are going to do to celebrate.
