Welcome to Etsy Saturday. With the Fourth of July around the corner I thought it would be a good time to show some love for the good 'ole US of A and the troops who serve to protect our rights and freedoms.
Are you throwing a party for the Fourth? I think these accessories from That's a Wrap 2 are super festive!
Seriously, if I showed up at your party, which I'll gladly do if you invite me, I would totally think you were the bomb with a set -up like this! And to put it over the top how about dressing up your cupcakes with some of these wrappers and toppers?
Perhaps your going to the local parade. Don't leave your poor pooch at home alone. Bring her with you and make sure she is dressed for the occasion. As a side note, I am completely against dressing dogs in clothes. God gave them clothes, it's called fur! So unless you have one of those strange looking furless dogs that look like they have succumbed to some bizarre disease, keep the clothes in your closet. The patriotic accessories below are completely appropriate though and demonstrate the proper way to dress your dog.
The first is an understated yet lovely stars and stripes collar that any canine would be proud to wear from the Etsy shop Nola And Spencer. I don't know why but this flag harness from LTL GTO totally reminds me of a cool biker bandanna. And what dog doesn't dream of being a part of cool Patriotic biker gang?
My parents were decidedly anti-hippie. And I grew up as a pretty conservative straight laced kid. However I have this strange attraction to tie dye. Like wearing it is some form of rebellion. I know I am beyond boring but these shirts are definitely not. The first one with the heart would be perfect patriotic wear for me or my daughter. It is created by Bris Tie Dyes and she has tons more red, white and blue combinations along with every other color combination imaginable. The second flag tie dye shirt is from Twirlytoes Wearable Art and would look super "hip" on my boys. She also has lots of other fun designs that I've never seen on a tie dye shirt before.
For our wedding, my husband and I gave out custom, one of a kind, pens to the groomsmen. Ever since then I have had such an appreciation for a really nice pen and what a great gift this would make for a service man or woman or veteran. You can find these beautiful creations at 76 Winger.
So I went to get my hair colored yesterday and my tomboy of a daughter told me to pick boy colors like blue or green. She was a little disappointed when I came home with "yellow" but at least it wasn't something totally girly like pink or purple. My little L isn't really into the whole princess thing either but she does love Minnie Mouse and Hello Kitty. So who knows, maybe I could buy her one of these cute necklaces and she could have something girly to where with her football jerseys. You can find tons of other very cute designs and characters to please the likings of any picky girl over at Presents by Patience.
Happy Shopping!
God Bless our Troops! God Bless our Veterans! God Bless America!
I love your blog! Thank you for including my tiedyes and the kind words about them... what a compliment!
I also love that you are a Catholic, which means you are probably familiar with World Youth Day (which is a worldwide event that happens every 3 years where millions of teens go on a pilgrimage which ends with a Mass celebrated by the Pope), and this year it is in Madrid Spain. That is why I am selling tiedye tees on Etsy because I am going to be there. I went when it was in Australia 3 years ago, and it is a meaningful event to me- and it's also a boatload of fun!
Anyway, thanks again for the inclusion in your super neat blog!
God's blessings~
