Yeah it's Etsy Saturday and it's fall, my favorite time of the year. I especially love Halloween, so much so that there were about 100 Etsy hand-crafted items that I wanted to post. I decided to divide up my finds into categories. This week is ---- TRICK OR TREAT BAGS!
I remember when I was young I had that stupid little orange plastic pumpkin and every year I would spill it or drop it or the handle would break which would cause me to drop and spill it and then I would end up in tears. My older brother got to carry around the cool pillowcase but when I tried to carry one, it was to big and dragged on the ground behind me which made my mom mad because she didn't want to go to sleep on skid marked pillows. Oh the drama of youth!
I vowed never to let my own children suffer those hardships, so I made sure that each have cool looking and functional Trick or Treat Bags. However, I think the Etsy ones I found today definitely top ours. And one day my children will blog about the stupid functional bag their mom made them carry when other much cooler and stylish ones were only a Paypal click away.
We all know who the Cookie Monster is but have you met the Candy Monster? I think this is so adorable, especially since you can shove the candy right down this little guy's throat. What's more fun than that? Doves Nest Designs has this Dotty Ann and lots of other little monsters just waiting to be adopted and fed. How fun!!
Maybe you too grew up with those pumpkin buckets and feel that it is a tradition that should not be broken. Go ahead and keep the bucket but make it one of these sturdier and more fashionable ones from Paiges Pastime. It's got a nice open top so you can see when someone tries to slip you some linty old lady candy dug from the bottom of a purse rather than the good Hershey Bars.
You may have noticed from other posts that I am a sucker for fabric baskets! These from Mayas Kalupi don't disappoint. She has lots of different designs for you to check out. I love the contrast of the cutesy kitties on the outside and the hardcore skulls and crossbones on the inside. It totally matches my daughter. She's all cute on the outside and a wild child on the inside!
I don't want to play favorites but this tutu trick or treat bag from Naptime 21 is definitely my favorite. Any little girl who showed up at my house with this bag would absolutely get extra candy from me. I am not sure it would go to well with my daughter's football player costume though. Oh well she'll always be a princess in my heart.
In closing I'd just like to say "It's not about how much candy you collect, it's about how good you look doing it!"
HAPPY SHOPPING!!
