Etsy Easter Basket

This is the third weekend in a row that I am highlighting an Etsy seller and I think I am going to make this a regular feature. I love hand-made and when ever possible I try to support small business. This week I would like to introduce you all to Baffin Bags.

I have purchased a few different times from this seller and can honestly say that the quality is great, the selection is amazing and the prices are more than reasonable. Recently when I clicked on to her shop I saw this:

 
Seriously, I'm drooling. Is this not the cutest thing ever!? There are lot's of other patterns, it's candy for the eyes. Don't need another Easter basket, what about this...

 
Tell me this would not make the most fabulous gift filled with Dr. Seuss books. Who would not love that?

I have this clutch wallet in a different pattern and get compliments on it all the time. I use it for cash and my check book but you could also use it for sun glasses, fun and functional. But here's the thing I have purchased the most of ....

 
It's the mini wallet. I keep my credit card, Starbucks card, Barnes and Noble card and every other card I have in here. Again, I have gotten tons of compliments. I have been using my for at least 2 years and it is still in amazing condition. I have given this as a gift more times than I can count. There is a pattern to fit the tastes of any one of your friends. It's also fabulous for gifting gift cards. Instead of purchasing one of those throw-away tins, give something that will last years and adds a much more personalized touch to the gift. Perfect for teachers!!

Update:

School was cancelled today because of snow and we have no school Monday because of conferences. All that time making cake pops  .....is there some way to show tears streaming down the screen?

 

So I know it's a little early but J and C's school is celebrating on Friday. J's first grade class has to dress up as a character. I thought I had it made because my nephew has a "Cat in the Hat" costume. Of course I waited until the last minute to get it only to realize it was way too small!! What's a girl to do? Run to Walmart! I found the red shirt on clearance for $3, the pants $7 and the hat $1. I came home and fitted the hat to L's soccer ball and pulled out my trusty glue gun that I've had since college and I won't even tell you how long ago that was. I already had the blue yarn. I cut a bunch of strands, covered the head in hot glue and scrunched the pieces on and on and on... Technical, I know.

Just add a circle cut from felt and a cute kid and voila!

Also included in the Seuss Day are surprise guest readers throughout the day. I signed up for the last spot to read "Happy Birthday to You" For Dr. Seuss's b-day? No, for J's. He'll be 7 the next day. And I'll also be bringing in a special birthday treat:

First I made balls with my red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting mixture.

 

I glued in the sticks with candy melts and then cooled them in the garage (securely covered of course) overnight. Next I wrote "Thing 1 and Thing 2" on a million unmelted white candy melts with edible ink pens which are much more difficult to use than one would imagine. I dipped the pops and stuck on the white candy melts while the red was still melty. My wonderful husband and my oldest boy made this way cool cake pop drying rack for me. Thanks guys! My end result:
